Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1&2 Nxai Pan Camp
A light charter flight will take you from Maun to the beautiful Nxai Pan Camp for the first two nights of your safari. Nxai Pan adjoins Makgadikgadi Pans National Park on its north border and was once an ancient salt lake. Today it is renowned for its huge springbok population, and once the summer rains arrive it becomes a lush Garden of Eden where gemsbok, elephant and zebra migrate to the region. This extraordinary event gives visitors a chance to see zebra in their thousands as they foal their young and the circle of life continues. Large herds of giraffe can be spotted, and with these wandering herds of plains game, predators are attracted – lion, cheetah, leopard, jackal, wild dog and spotted hyena. Join game drives as well as the chance to explore the pans and visit the famous Baines Baobabs
Day 3–5 Splash Camp, Okavango Delta
Your flight takes you to the heart of the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the crystal–clear waters flow from Angola into Namibia and make their way to this part of the Kalahari Desert to make up Africa’s largest wetland delta. Amid the mesh of meandering channels, islands and lush plains, animals abound from iconic predators including lion, wild dog, leopard and cheetah to plains game and water specialists including waterbuck, lechwe and of course hippos and crocs. Your lodge is located in the beautiful Kwara Private Reserve situated in a permanent water lcoation and activities are based around experiencing the region to the full with game drives, game walks, mokoro excursions and boat trips (note some may be seasonal).
Day 4–6 Lebala Camp, Kwando River
Onward to Lebala Camp hidden in the southern portion of the Kwando Wilderness made up of 232,000ha of waterways, floodplains, plains and woodland. This beautiful region is home to a wide variety of Africa’s game including zebra, wildebeest, impala, giraffe and tsessebe as well as lechwe and the shy sitatunga. Elephant and buffalo abound but perhaps one of the main reasons visitors travel here is for the wild dog sightings – regarded as one of the best places to spot this endangared predator. During day and night game drives watch out for lion, leopard, cheetah as well as smaller cats in this incredible wilderness and where game walks will give you the opportunity to spot the smaller species usually missed on drives
Day 9&10 The Elephant Camp, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Your final nights are spent on a hilltop setting with views across unspoilt veld and onward to the spray of the mighty Victoria Falls, one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Join a guided tour to the vast and thundering falls, along with a sunet cruise on the Zambezi River.
Day 11 End of Safari – Victoria Falls Airport
Today a road transfer will take you to Victoria Falls Airport in time for onward connection
