Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1 Cape South Coast
Departing the bustling and beautiful city of Cape Town, we make our way via the vineyards and town of Stellenbosch to enjoy chocolate and wine tasting before continuing onward to Stony Point Nature Reserve where we watch the antics of African penguins and onward to Hermanus, our overnight destination. Between the months of July to November, southern right whales migrate here to breed and feed – they often come close to the shore and cliffs making a fantastic spectacle.
Day 2 Swellendam
After travelling through some charming Overberg Villages, we arrive at the De Hoop Nature Reserve. Here we have the opportunity to stretch our legs, walk and tour a small area of the reserve, before heading to Cape Agulhas the southern most point of the African continent.
Day 3 Oudtshoorn
Making our way through the Klein Karoo, the traditional farming region renowned for its numerous farm stalls; where we will stop to experience one along the way before arriving at Oudtshoorn. Here we join a guided tour to explore the stunning formations of the limestone Cango Caves with impressive stalactites and stalacmites and massive caverns.
Day 4&5 Tsitsikamma
A region full of forest walks, stunning beaches and lagoons offering a range of optional activities, this truly is a place to experience and enjoy. We visit Nature’s Valley – a charming village and this afternoon you can hike or relax by the beach. On day 5 set out to explore the rugged coastline on foot around Tsitsikamma National Park, taking us along the Waterfall Trail which makes up the first part of the famous Otter Trail. Perhaps also take part in optional activities such as the huge Bloukrans bungee jump, kayak, zip line and much more.
Day 6 Sunday’s River Valley (Addo)
After stopping at the surfing mecca of Jeffrey’s Bay we continue to Addo National Park, the third largest national park in SA and home to numerous animals including rhino, elephant, buffalo, a range of antelope as well as predators such lion, leopard, spotted hyena and over 400 bird species
Day 7 Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha)
